  • Quality Antique Bike Web Sites

G'day fellas (are there any women on this list?)
I have just been discussing the Wheels Through Time museum and web site, and thought a thread dealing with quality bike orientated web sites is needed.
I know that I have limited ability and knowledge re bike resto, and I need to be able to keep my 47 and 22 Indians on the road, so I find the info on many of these sites invaluable. WTT now even sells resto DVDs (of non Indians) which would be of value to me re the resto process, and maintainance of my bikes.
With that in mind, to start the ball rolling, here are some of mine. Hope others take the effort to add to this list, and maby we could end up with a dedicated links page on this site so we can split Tech from General Interest, from Parts Suppliers, and by manufacturer etc.
Best wishes all, and hope this thread takes off.

    Ken

Cool idea Ken, I have a few sites saved in my favorites for quick access. Most of the time I'm looking for parts or historical reference. I do check most of the sites you mentioned and they are all good. Leno's bike stuff is great and Wheels Through Time is exceptional! I also check You-Tube fairly regular and do an antique motorcycle search. Sometimes you can find some excellent videos. Since the "hub" of antique motorcycle world is out of my near reach, the internet is a great tool to keep up on things. But I know I don't have to tell you that!!!

I check this site quite often. But be warned if you post an ad make sure you alter your e-mail address and make note of it in your message. This slows down the spammers. I learned the hard way!!!

This one's got some neat videos and pics.......

If your into early racing history, this site is awesome!!!

I know there's more.......... I'll post them as I think of them.........

      Howdy Ken,

Don't know about the "quality" of these sites - so to speak - they're purely from a low key hobbiest's standpoint, but out of the ones I've developed on my restorations the three that would appeal to a late model Chief rider would be the following:

1941 Indian Four - Unfinished Business
1946 Indian Chief - An Old Painting Retouched -
      1948 Indian - The Super Chief -

These cover two ground up restorations and a barn-fresh fluffing with some recommendations by category under ..a few tips for making a few modest improvements for ride quality and reliability.
      Cheerio,
      Peter

        Thanks Fellas

        Great sites.
        Thanks Pete and Cory.
I'm sure the other 180 plus people who have seen this thread to date have appreciated the links as well. Disappointed more people haven't posted interesting links and supported this thread.
        Best wishes fellas.

        Ken.

These are two of my favorites, beside this site!
