AMCA to give half our money to a foundation?

I heard that at the recent AMCA national board of directors meeting, there was a vote to give half of our current treasury to a new foundation. The new foundation will be called something like the "AMCA Foundation" and will be run by many of the same people who voted to give half of our money to themselves.

Was anybody at the national board of directors meeting and can anyone comment on this?

What's in it for the membership besides a weakened financial base?

Not much

I don't think the membership gets anything in this deal. They voted to take half of all our money away and we get nothing. They have no accountability to the people that have built that treasury over the last fifty years. They took the money and they're gone.

Does anyone know any more information about this AMCA Foundation?

I'd love to be wrong, but from all my sources it looks like half our club's bank account was taken away with only one vote of the board of directors.
