  • Yankee Chapter will be hosting Hebron in '08

I want to spread the word that the Yankee Chapter WILL be hosting its normal Hebron, CT meet in August '08 as a chapter meet. This a a good time meet with parts, friends, and fun, located in country Connecticut.

Vending, a local road ride, and chapter judging will take place along with the banquet and some other TBD activites. We will have the annual Joe Barber memorial award for best Panhead, as voted by other Panhead owners/entries; also the Giles Adams award for best pre-'30, same judging method.

As per usual practice, vendors should contact Steve Ciccalone for a space reservation.

Of course, along with the other coalition chapters we will be part of hosting the Rhinebeck National in '08 as well.

I have been recently elected the director of the Yankee Chapter, please direct any questions my way:

            Hebron AND Rhinebeck...Excellent News!

Living in Connecticut I plan on attending both events with my trusty camera looking for bikes to photograph and feature in the magazine.

there is a god after all...... look at the nat'l meet schedule......there are NO NAT'l meets between wauseon and davenport........7 weeks in the height of the summer and yet there are 5 in a 4 week period in june.......who's doing the math on this schedule?????? i love the big meets and will be at oley and rhinebeck, hopefully we'll be at wauseon in '08 as well depending on business and the price of fuel..... the small meets bring a balance, while looking thru the latest copy ofthe AMC the fort sutter chapter didn't have many bikes in for judging and the omaha chapter meet is indoors .....they appear to be small meets so why does hebron have to be dumped as a nat'l? i have helped judge at hebron and there have always been at least 6 classes with lots of bikes to be judged in those classes at hebron........ remember now the AMCA started in the new england area.....not the mid west, south or west coast......... not having hebron is like dumping the original 13 colonies when the united states of america was founded.....kinda unpatriotic don't ya think???

Hebron will be August 1 and 2

                Dear AMCA:

The Yankee's are pleased to invite you for August 1 and 2 to enjoy the ride, people, and meet. We'll have a banquet on Friday and chapter judging awards on Saturday. We chose a 2 day meet so folks can get a start out Sunday morning.

I received a lot of nice feedback off post about the meet, and it certainly feels like we're going to see a lot of people.

In addition to Hebron, you can find Yankees at:

Tumbleweeds MC annual dinosaur show, Bridgewater, MA June 1
                Rhinebeck June 13-15
End of season camping riding and eating at Sterling Campgrounds, Sterling MA in the fall.

Please- no matter what chapter or region you are in, let me know either on or off line what makes a good meet to you. What are the important aspects of a club chapter and meet? I'd like to learn what people want.

                Sincerely,
                Dan Margolien

                  Hebron is August 1, 2 2008

We've set the meet up for Friday/Saturday only. You are welcomed to stay over till Sunday. As a Chapter meet, we've decided to condense the activity and folks can have Sunday for themselves.
