  • Pan Head Transmition Id Help

Been going thru some boxes and came across a pan trans that I have had for quite a while I was told that it was a 55-56 trans.

The numbers on the inside of the starter cover are 33-49

The numbers on the underside of the trans located are as follows below roughly in that location.
The "33" is part of the casting, the remainder are stamped in to the body of the gear box.

    33 2E

    12 35

Any help in identifing this would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance

If there is no raised date code and the 5th bolt insert is brass, and no vent boss near lid it is likely a pre 39 case. Some late 38 and all 39-64 cases have a date code at the bottom right rear of case.

The only raised numbers are the "33" in the upper left corner

I will post a couple other photos in the Pan? Section

Looks like the trans case was cast in March of 53. The 40's era cases used a letter to designate the month.
