    Hello all,

I'm pretty new here, and wanted to post this pic of my dad and his bike. I've been wanting to rebuild one for a long time and am finally getting the gumption up for a long term project.

Whether or not something like this is in the cards for us remains to be seen....

Thanks in advance for any comments on the old girl.

BTW, here is a link to a little bit bigger version of the image....

      on dating the picture?

      hi again,

say, somebody told me today that buddy seats didn't come out till 1955 or later, is that so? Does anyone notice any other mods that might help me estimate when this pic was taken?

      thx,

      farmer.

        Sodbuster,

Everything on the back of the bike would have been correct and available for a 1950 FL, the rear bumper, saddlebags with western style buckles, "cigar" muffler, sergeant stripe fender trim, and the buddy seat with the single chrome rail on the back.

The only thing I question is the tank emblem, the picture is a little fuzzy and I can't open the link to the larger photo (its blocked here at work). It doesn't look like the 47-50 tank badge.
