Hello - long time member infrequent poster of late. I've worked with AMCA Member Paul Friebus al lot. He was intrinsic when I was performing a full restoration on my '65 FLH that achieved a 99.75 judging and the Wolverton Awared for best restoration at Perkiomen meet years back. I am going to be getting it now ready for sale and really would like to contact him.

I know where the shop is and I'm going to be in the area this week (Catawissa) and planning to make a visit with him to discuss some things.

I'm sure if he's still in the same place he would remember me if he is in good health.

If anyone has a good contact number or other info you would be willing to share in terms of his current status. Please - PM me, don't post here.

In the panhead group you should see a lot of archival info from when I was working this restoration.

    Thanks!

    Ray

Do an internet search and you might be a bit enlightened. You likely won't be seeing him.

Frankly I was afraid of something like that. All of the time I spent with him is all positive. I count him as one of my best friends and mentors when it comes to vintage bikes and restoration. And I still do regardless of what happened.

None of my business, but I'd guess for you to say you were "afraid of something like that", you saw some warning signs. I vaguely remember the rumblings of unhappy customers. And I remember pretty well when the meth bust took place. What I don't know is any details of how this whole deal played out.

From my outsider's view, it seems like a talented builder got himself into trouble, maybe due to financial pressures, by gettng involved with the wrong 1%ers.

Yessiree Clark, unfortunate mishaps like that occur. I won't name the proprietor or his H-D Dealership, only that it was in a suburb of Detroit in the late 1980's-1990's. A 1% club shanghaied that Dealership. The Owner ended up being caught up in all of the medley, and Harley Davidson shut the Dealership down PDQ. The H-D Dealer fought to salvage the dealership through the legal system, but it was futile.
