I didn't even know any of this existed on our forum until I saw this thread.

A key thing to keep in mind is that pretty much the only growing segment of new riders in North America are women under the age of 40.

Conversely, it seems our club's biggest issue is an aging out membership . . . that is male dominated.

The next group of riders coming of age with the desire and income to join our club is very diverse, female dominated, and way less tolerant of being objectified than previous generations.

So, do we want to have positive examples on our forum that entice female riders to join our club - or to continue to reinforce the stereotype of male bikers objectifying women?

There are many examples of positive female images as riders from the Motor Maids to Ann Margaret. So it's not like we don't have a choice.

Finally - what happens if you flip the equation? Consider this: if you were a straight man interested in old bikes who logged on to this forum and found a whole section dedicated to pictures of men on bikes in various states of undress . . . would you get all excited about that and want to get more into the club?

If the answer is no . . .then why would we expect female riders to not feel the same way about pictures of women in various states of undress on our club forum?

I want to let you know that I have modified our most popular AMCA Community Forum Topic with detail to make specifications for what goes in that forum more clear. The forum is Old Photos: Here is the place for those old photographs... I hope you all have become aware that my practice of moderation is to do moderation without overdoing it. Its like getting that haircut that you are not supposed to notice that anything has changed. Here's the deal, the Old Photos Forum is for old Photographs. Not modern images of something old but an old photo, one that has survived and may have been rediscovered behind a wall, in an old book, behind the main picture frame backing - it gathered dust, sun light, moisture and fingerprints for decades, one that has that look of old, but it has been looked at lovingly over and over to the point its edges are care warn, wrinkled, torn and dog eared. It must be an old photograph. The old photos are used for people to see details of the machines and how they looked with the people that worked on them and rode them as they were used back in the day. You all will readily know it when you see it. This moderator will remove posts that do not meet the old photograph specification using the moderator's judgement of what old is. In the following I have pasted the changes to the subject line and the content of the first, sticky topic in the Old Photo Forum.

Vintage (Old Photographs Only) Pics of the Day

(((Please include only old photos - not photos of old things)))

Vintage Pics of the Day was a favorite forum on CAIMag.Com and some guy named Oscar Wilde said Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness. So lets see if we can meet the goal of at least one vintage motorcycle photo every day until ...

Find the topic -- Vintage (Old Photographs Only) Pics of the Day at the link that follows

      - -
      https://forum.antiquemotorcycle.org/...ics-of-the-day

So there you go - contact me anytime with questions or concerns. PS I will create a place, a new topic that encourages the capturing of any more current day image, drawing, video link or otherwise related to antique motorcycle visual.

A big shout out to you forum members that have kept the Vintage Pics of the Day Topic going. Some of you have been on it daily. A tip of the helmet to you! Kudos for all your contributions.

      Cheers

I check out the site in the morning under latest activity.
I think I see most posts regardless of forum category.
There is so little activity on this site, with so few regular contributors my concern is that actions regarding posts that may be an new photo of old bike rather than old photo or a female pose deemed provocative will just lead to some contributors not bothering to take the time to post future content.
Regarding too much skin I dont think there was easy rider centerfold content, maybe I missed it.
The only offensive post I recall was the Vietnamese prisoner shot in the head.

      Tom
ps I see the shooting pic changed to the the skipper and Gilligan.Funny but no mc content.
Don knots with gocart and track girl, great pic ,no mc content but I enjoyed it and glad it was posted and not removed.

Without taking sides, I do enjoy too much skin (other than Tom’s preceding picture) but agree it went very modern and didn’t stick to the vintage theme.
