Actually, I thought this was pretty cool. I bought a few boxes of old magazines at a steam engine show last fall. This was in it; Mechanix Illustrated, Aug, 1955. Looks like an Indian 4 with a transplanted Ford V8 60 in it. The article doesn't mention the owners name, only that he lived in southwest Texas. It also says that the pictures were courtesy of Ford Times. I wonder where it is today?

I was surfing the net and found an update on this bike. It was built in 1954 by Texan Bill Drabek and is currently owned by Dave Edwards of Cycle World magazine. It's undergoing a restoration.

v8 60 bike
Hi
There have been many v8-60 bikes.I thikk the one you posted is indeed a Indian 4 that was in need of a new engine. And has a Harley 4 speed and primary driven via beval gear. Most just used a beval gear and clutch with no transmission.I have one curently under construction using a BAW/5 gearbox final drive and clutch.I chose a 70s Harley swingarm frame to get a vin number and avoid the home built registration.Should be a lot of smoth fun.

Although I'm getting off the subject of antique motorcycles, here's something I found just for fun:
