I'm having trouble following this thread.

Other than the EVO design now being eligible for AMCA events/judging . . .thus making it an "antique" design; I don't see at all how this thread is tied to antique motorcycles.

As Chi-Com steel gave me a permanent limp in 1971 I try really hard not to buy Chi-Com products, although next to impossible.

I'm still trying to determine whether it's true. Yes, China has replicated a close copy of the venerable but now defunct air-cooled Sportster, but did Harley-Davidson, Inc actually sell tooling, blueprints, etc to China? There's a growing movement hating on Harley-Davidson, Inc for doing that, but is it actually true? Or just a conspiracy theory? So far, I'm not convinced that HD is guilty as charged.

Good question, but you kinda answered it yourself if Evo Sportster is now eligible as an "antique."

The air cooled Sportster is one of the most important motorcycles in Harley history and second generation Harley and Davidson families' biggest contribution to the company. Lots of people are angry with modern HD, Inc for killing it. The fact that a Chinese company resurrected it from the dead is significant. At least I think so. I'm wondering if any of the parts are interchangeable with real Evo Sportsters? All I've heard so far is that bore and stroke are the same. But Honda parts do fit Chinese Honda engine clones and vice versa, so why not here? At the rate things are going, China might end up owning HD lock, stock and barrel.
