  • Manifold test

G day, I have a question about manifold testing, senior moment, should the valves be in the closed or open position when doing a manifold test, ? Rob

Just set your regulator to ~15 psi, Rob,

Hook it up to your testplate, and it will rise and fall as you turn the motor through.

When it is up to pressure, your valves are closed enough to bubble-test.

If valves are excessively open, the air just escapes.

Even though its been nearly a quarter-century, Folks,

This link still serves our hobby well:

How ironic that modern brainiacs are 3D printing testplates with no bolt threads, or using Schrader valves that defeat the regulator..

And selling them. Our hobby is doomed.
