  • Question about E-track Trailering systems

I recently purchased a new trailer with the e-track system. I have always used Pingle Straps and Chocks. I own American Bikes and like to secure them with American products.I see they (Pingle) manufacture a chock with a device that mates to the e-track system for around 200 USD. I have purchased one of them but have several other Pingle Chocks unmated to the track docking device that I would like to attempt to figure out how to get it to mated with the e-track.or see if any of you'll have mastered this task. Now that the Missus has retired I plan on traveling to several club events this summer and would like to take some bikes with me, or leave the event with maybe a new one? As alway, I know y'all will have figured this out. Thanks in Advance.

I have a 20' enclosed trailer with E track and using Pingle chocks. Took a little measuring to set up the chocks so I have room to mount bikes where I can walk between them. Trailer is also set up for my show car using different wheel chock for the car. I will try to get some photos for you later today, as easier to show than explain properly. Storing a bike in there right now as I ran out of room in the shop but will show the set up easily.

Here are a few pictures of the set up. I can haul 4 bikes nicely. My vintage HD bikes stay in the shop. DSCN6170.JPG Picture of my car chock also. DSCN6173.JPG DSCN6177.JPG DSCN6175.JPG DSCN6171.JPG

With just 2 straps to hold the bike vertical, if one fails, the bike falls. I suggest using 4.
A friend was trailering my bike with 2 rachet straps, one of the tiedown hooks pulled out of the (new) plywood floor of the trailer, I was instantly sick when opening the trailer door . . .

Might take a look at the US Cargo Control website for options on e track or other systems. I used the one for aircraft seats and cargo mounting and the moveable rings in my 7x14 trailer> I prefer it as it is smaller with and used 3 8ft lengths of trach one down either side and one in the middle and they have a wheel chock that works with that track system. You can move it anywhere up and down the track and lock it in. It is basically a Pingle chock on a plate that is moveable in 1 in increments down the length of the track. The moveable ring hooks are rated to 4,000 lbs so more that enough for any car or mc you would haul. It is what is used in airplanes in the cargo hold and to faster the seats in the cabin. Really versatile in my opinion. Like I say, US Cargo Control has everything for cargo security as that is their business and good to work with. Good luck!

BTW that track system in called L Track, and you can find it under their truck tie down system category.

If on a long haul I will use 4. If tie down hooks pulled out of the floor then that is on who ever installed them in the floor, should never happen!! I have had a couple bike nearly fall on a short haul when I was too lazy to tie the rear wheel.
