Thats great, JoJo... I remember watching that old TV show as a kid... on our TV that was only a twelve inch screen, black and white, too.
and Clint Eastwood, must have been just barely 21yrs old !! That XLCH started right up, everytime... and that early panhead was pretty cool, too.

I laughed so hard I almost got a belly ache. That guy with the shotgun wa a piece of work, too !! Way too funny ! At least the guys rode through the dirt roads in pretty good form. Can't say too much about those Cops, though. They looked too much like rookies !!

Great stuff for a Monday matinee. Thanks.

My pleasure C2K. Ya, that was a vey popular program in the 1950's. They filmed in the Simi & San Fernando Valley area when they were practically rural.

Near the end of the second one the officer posing as a biker kickstarts his bike with it in gear. Lucky it did not start right up.

Clint was born May 31, 1930. The episode aired in April 1956. Guess that would have made him 25.
great 1950s Bobbers. Clint on a knucklehead, possibly a '47 from the looks of the gas tank and his buddy on a Panhead, could be an ex cop bike with that paint job.
I hadn't seen the episode with the guys on a (54?) Pan and a K Model. Guess I'm a Highway Patrol junkie. It's on locally at 5:00 AM and I used to watch it every morning until I started seeing re-runs of re-runs. Was it a little corny? Sure, but that was a 1950s cop show. Good entertainment, though. Thanks JoJo.

Thanks Dave. Yes, a little bit '50's corny, but at least efficient enough that the Highway Patrol and other Police agencies acknowledged their involvement with praise and support. If you read about Broderick Crawford, some of the stories are cRaZy. They shot 2 episodes a week, which was insane even for back then. This led to some additional drinking episodes with Broderick. One story was when Crawford was too inebriated to shoot a scene. They then let him lye on the floor, and shot the scene from above to make it look like Broderick was leaning against a wall~hahaha. Broderick also had some DUI's, and they had to use a tow/camera vehicle for awhile till the DUI's were dropped. This resulted in a lot of back road filming, where they let Broderick drive without incident. Crawford blamed the excessive drinking to the heavy series ethics. 10~4

Good story, JoJo. Years later I saw Broderick on an episode of CHiPs. Ponch and John had him pulled over. Don't remember what for. Possible DUI????
