  • AHRMA event with, Bike show, road racing, & Motocross at Laguna Seca Monterey Calif.

July 19-21 see Pro and semi pro racing with various bikes from 2 stroke to vintage Harley and Indian racing. I am going Saturday for the racing and entering a few bikes in the special Talbot Classic bike show, right there in the paddock area!! Will bring #72 for the show and a couple others. Show is free to enter but you pay $30 to get in to the race track for the day. Full race pass 3 day $50

Man, excellent, they’re still able to have non major (Indy car, IMSA) events there. The Karen’s in the adjoining neighborhoods are trying to get the track charter revoked. For Porsche events of a late u have to meet trackside strict decibel meter readings. Are y’all hindered with the same for your race machinery?

I don't race now just attend various races at Laguna and do the bike show. I don't know of any issue with decibel issue here. After 70 years of county running it, last year it went private. The county reached an agreement with a group called Friends of Laguna Seca. With Bruce Canepa pushing the effort. They are going to spend 30-40 million to upgrade. Only 2 neighbors raised questions and wanted an environmental review on traffic and noise, but that did not happen!
This is a huge deal for those of us on the west coast.

Word now is that the Moto Talbott Museum itself will close this fall so if you are in the Monterey, Ca. area now is the time to see the museum before it is too late. Here is a link to the museum website and peek inside. https://www.mototalbott.com/

I went to a vintage event there in 2000, I was heavily involved with AHRMA at the time and my wife and I were on a big loop ride from home out to visit my nephew who was doing his physics masters program at UC Davis. We also went to a short track in Vallejo that was part of it all. I remember the front straight being very slick due to the fact they had run drag races on it!
