password confusion

So I use one password to sign into the amca site. Why do I need another password to sign into the forum section?? Once I'm in the forum section how do I change my password? I'm currently using the temp one the moderator gave me.

Some of particularly lazy individuals use THE SAME PASSWORD for both sites (Gasp!) [Which sin in sloth?]

My understanding is that the AMCA Home site and the Forum are run be different folks.a
