Mecum Lost My Title

Dear All, my Police Harley 36VLH in the latest magazine went through Mecum auctions on 27 January. It took a long time to get the money and after a couple of days of telephone runaround Mecum admitted they had lost the title. Fortunately my wife had kept a copy so we were able to get a duplicate, and the Mecum check finally arrived seven weeks after the auction. That is an elementary mistake to make for a company taking 20% of the value of the bike in commission, so make sure you always keep a copy of the title when using auction houses.

Sounds like the stars were lined up in the wrong position for you on that deal. I have sold a few and I usually walk up and get my money the next day at the auction. Glad it finally worked out for you. They employee humans and we all make mistakes at one point or another.
