  • Estate Sale & Collection of Rockwell T Rookey

I get contacted periodically by organizations outside the AMCA offering opportunities that related to antique motorcycles. Here is a unique opportunity in New England and I am sure this will be of interest. The description from the auctioneers JACQUIER AUCTIONS INC. 16 Klaus Anderson Road Southwick, MA 01077 says
    Date(s) 10/17/2023 - 10/25/2023

BIDDING OPENS: Tues. 10/17/23 4:00 pm ET First lot starts to close on Wednesday, 10/25/23 @ 4:30 pm ET

We have been commissioned to sell the estate & collection of Rockwell T Rookey who was an avid and passionate collector of motorcycles, vehicles and raced for many years at Lime Rock Park. Items include Indian motorcycles, 62 Chev. pickup, Porsches, Cub tractor, motorcycle parts, tools and so much more

I counted 241 items in the auction of which many are tool, parts and miscellaneous lots. Here is a list of most of the antique motorcycles and I will include some photos toward the end of this topic. ...not certain if Rock was an AMCA member, but he was involved as treasurer of the 101 Association. And though I never met him in person I did have the pleasure of speaking on the phone with him several times. He was a big help and a very nice fellow. He passed in September '22.

The auction yielded $28,500 for the 101 Scout, and $16,000 for the '47 Chief. Buyers got some very good deals on the Indians.

WOW! I've seen baskets go for that.
