  • Mecum 2023 auction now just a memory but good time as always in Las Vegas!

So as I usually do I made the trek to Las Vegas for the Mecum motorcycle auction. As usual I had a great time and how could you not with nearly 2,000 motorcycles for sale! Many private collections were up for bid as well as the guy with one or two for sale. I really liked the As Found collection Mike Wolf brought, I think it was 62 bikes or so. I bid on one but went for too much I thought. I was able to talk to Mike for a bit, really nice guy and very approachable. I saw Chip Foose with him most of the time. Visited the AMCA booth, later even saw our President Ross Metcalfe making the rounds. Top selling motorcycle was a 1908 Harley Davidson strap tank $935.000 and yes that does include the commission fee to buy! See more at Mecum.com

Sometimes I sell a bike but this year I bought one. I really did not take many pictures so if you went and want post some up. Nice to see so many friends, many only once a year at this event. This is held at the South Point Hotel and Casino, what a great place to have this type of event. The facilities are all you could want, really nice rooms, multiple restaurant's, movie theater, the largest poker room I ever have seen and bowling if you want.

An update to the auction specifically the As Found collection from Mike Wolf. He had gross sales of $1,961,800 on all of his bikes, and they were at No Reserve.

Thanks for posting. Sound like a great opportunity to at least see some vintage machines.

No, but wish I did as I like to document those type of things, just too busy this time. Is there something noteworthy on this bike?
