no buyer's remorse there. i need to get this off my chest. it's been a long time since i've sold anything on Ebay. F---ing fleecebay, i sold $1275.50 worth of new 1969 Honda CB750 parts and received $1012.99 from my sales. it used to be that the buyer would remit via paypal to seller and then the seller would transfer the funds from paypal to the seller's bank of choice. now fleecebay sends their "payout" directly to seller's bank. so, for selling $1275.50 worth of merchandise, fleecebay took $262.51. i didn't fall for any of their bells and whistles such as "print a address label," used my own packaging, etc. $1012.99 is at least better than throwing the parts in the trash; on the other hand, i think i'd have some strange and twisted sense of satisfaction if i threw the stuff away. Americans screwing Americans...

I didn't know ebay had become that greedy, Steve. Perhaps that will create a rebirth of the motorcycle swap meet.

This was announced in 2020 and put into place in 2021: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-57318294

a huge part of the reason is all the tax collection and tax reporting which started becoming required by states. Whilst 90 percent is software, we are all paying that as sellers.

In my home state, the reporting for income tax starts at $600 in total sales, including fees, not what i receive.

            hence, i gave up.

Aside from the inherent evil of the platform, Folks,..

Anyone care to comment on the unique hardware featured in my first post?

Smitty told me that many of the flat trackers made modified float bowls for linkerts in many different shapes, but they did not really help much & most were worse than stock. He had a box full of Linkerts, many NOS police, many had modified bowls.

The enlarged float bowls are just what racers used to do back in the day. I’ve sold all different styles of them. Is there an advantage to them? Who knows as long as someone thinks they work? There’s a market for them. On the eBay dilemma, it’s their game, their rules, if you can stomach them play along. Swap meets really aren’t that much fun, I don’t sit in my backyard in the sun for 8-10 hours why would I enjoy doing that at a meet.

Sprouts Elder was the first thing that popped in my mind, Duffey!...

                      Sprouts Elder.jpg

But I have a hard time associating him with the yePay offering, different era and all...
I can fully appreciate oversized bowls, like these courtesy of Eric of http://www.beautyofspeed.com/:

                      LINKERT RACING FLOAT BOWL3.jpg

And I even hogged out a few myself!:

                      HOGDBOWL.jpg

But the bowls in the offering could never be installed upon an HD twin.

PS: Smitty of Rock Island, Duffey?

                        With no choke assemblies, Badger,...

And what appears to be a 1 1/4" Model HS needle from an Indian,

We can only wonder if these ever ran at all.

The bodies are post-'55, so they were certainly Sprouts Younger.

                        PS: Luv the price anyway.

How could an enlarged bowl hurt, Duffey?
I never knew the police modifed bowls! (What region was this?)

                            First we must ask, BNSONS,...

Why do we have a bowl at all?
Its a reservoir, of course, and demand for acceleration, especially repeated quickly, can drop the bowl level before it can refill itself. (The channel with the holes in main nozzles was a volume of fuel ejected quickly upon demand, and can only be replenished if there is volume in the bowl.) How could more not be better?

Let us consider how much volume is actually available in a stock bowl.
The fuel level in properly-set Linkerts was 5/8" from the top (top line), and anything below the HS needle (middle line) or fixed jet (bottom line) was unavailable, and a lot in between is occupied by the float.

                            FUELVOL3.JPG

Face it, even with a fixed jet, that's not much reserve.
