  • Sealed 12V battery recommendations ?

Would like to use a sealed 12v Battery in my kick start panhead. Any recommendations? Plan to use it with a solid state voltage regulator and a 65a generator.
    Thanks!

I have the following set up in my '62 using a 65A and a solid state regulator converted into an original 6v regulator housing. I bought Tedd's 42-9987 box and lid. The box bracket where the battery sits had to be altered, as well as the lid to fit properly, but wasn't too hateful to do. You need to made wire connections from the battery to the cover. Overall worked out well, using this setup allows use of original lid, tie straps and battery posts are in the correct location. I bought a 12amp battery from Batteries Plus, not sure of the part #. 3 years now with no issues. You can also use a 6v hollowed out old battery but I believe only a 5amp battery will fit inside, there are also replica boxes made.

I have the same box that I've used in the past. Any chance you could see what p/n the battery is? Thanks

Don't have time to pull the cover right now, but looking over my receipts it looks like I used Batteries Plus # SLA12-9F2. 9amp battery that I stood on end.
