Danny Weil is (or was) an AMCA member and many of you may know him as an accomplished machinist and rebuilder of vintage motorcycle motors. A very nice guy, and he helped me with my Scout motor. The New York Times has just published a great article on Danny's Wall of Death carnival attraction, it's a great read:
