WOW, brings back a lot of memories for me. Delaware Half Mile in Harrington, Syracuse Mile in NY where I think it always rained. This was some of the best flat track racing you will ever see. Back then I rode a Combat Commando and visions of doing that danced in my head, unfortunately I never had the money or more important the testicular fortitude to compete.
My girlfriend and I still ride to the East Coast events Weedsport and now Port Royal. Meadowlands Mile was great the first year. Not much brand completion these days as Indian dominates. It sure was nice to see a glimpse of the past. Always keep in mind in those days to wear #1 you had to road race as well but at a flat track it all unfolds right before your eyes.
