There is always debate over the correct seat color for 1936 models. Black or Brown? Palmer's book says Black, but also says some pictures in the Enthusiast MAY show Brown. Palmer's book has been thoroughly researched over 40 years. New information that comes to light is included in the next edition. It is a wonderful source.
I always like to find factory documentation when possible. In this case I have the Factory Mechanical Specifications for the 1936 OHV. It clearly shows that the seat was Black horsehide.
