Hello, I am looking for measurements of the float chamber components of a pre1907 carb for the restoration of an early Indian Hedstrom engine. I am missing the lower part of the carburettor. I would be very grateful if someone is able to help. Many thanks in advance, Klaus

I have never held one in my hand, Klaus,..
And I won't even pretend to understand how they could work!
But perhaps you can scale from drawings?

I have some excellent photos as well,

Hi Cotton, thanks for the quick response! and drawings included! This particular carb is the later version with horizontal throttle barrel and the manifold exiting from the top. The air intake has a smaller diameter than the float chamber. The one I am looking for is the early version with the vertical throttle barrel and the manifold exiting from the side. The air intake is the same diameter as the float chamber (see attached picture). Thanks, KlausAttached Files

Your attachment is too tiny, Klaus!
(And its a bulky .png as well. I converted it to a .jpg with MSPaint, but still couldn't enlarge it.)
I suspect this is the early version?

It makes a lot more sense without the pilot plumbing to the intake manifold!

PS: Sorry I have forgotten whom to credit for the pics...

If you can measure dimensions of hardware on the top of your assembly, Klaus,..
You should be able to proportionally determine the dimensions of missing hardware from the photos

(It might be easier to start with a tomato can....)
