    I hope there is a license platologist among us?

    Here we see the same number on two different sizes of non-auto plates, 7 1/2" by 5 1/4" and 8 5/8" by 5 1/2" ; Illinois has yet to ever make sense.

      Don't forget back then the states sent you a new plate every year, so it's not unusual for them to change over the years.
