I grew up watching Dick Mann race at the Houston Astrodome in the 60's and 70's. Here is a great photo of him and his BSA teammates including our friend Don Emde on the #25. Great memories.

As a former long time member of AHRMA I had the opportunity to be around Dick Mann quite a few times. He used to lay out the vintage scrambles track in Steamboat Springs for the Vintage weekend that occurred there for many years. He also was one of the "Ironman" competitors who competed in all 4 disciplines, Road Race, Trials, Scrambles, and Flat Track. He often rode a BSA Gold Star for all 4! A very gracious person always willing to help and share stories and knowledge.
        RIP Buggs...

I got to meet Dick and his wife Kay at steamboat in 2016. Dick preferred to talk about anything except racing. Being a nurse, he and Kay shared the challenges he went through with his health. He lived a long, rich and storied life. i have put off reading "Mann of his Time," but it's coming off the shelf soon. I also got to meet Jeff Smith, Don and Derek Rickman. Very fortunate i was.
