Indian dispatch tow bar help

I have a 39 Indian dispatch tow. Can anybody out there tell me what holds the tow bar in the up position while not in use? Any knowledge would be appreciated.

Also Ken the AMCA Virtual Library in the "Features" section of the AMCA Website have at least four publications some specific and some as parts catalogs that include the Indian Dispatch - Tow. Unfortunately not the 1939.
