I used "Titles Unlimited" many many moons ago and it worked out OK but they got popped a few years back for titling kit Cobras as real '67s and they're out of business. Most of these companies work out of states (there are a couple) that don't require titles for vehicles that are so old, say 30 years or older. Ownership is transferred only by bill of sale. Basically, you sell your vehicle to them, then they sell it back to you, providing a bill of sale from their state along with a copy of that state's laws explaining how they transfer ownership. Most other states will recognize this kind of transfer but I hear some have been giving people a bad time over it. I've heard that Ohio is one that doesn't like this kind of transfer. Ask your state DMV if they accept paperwork from "bill of sale" states or if you'll need other proof. Also ask the title company if they have a money back guarantee.
