Cotten--I have copies of the original production drawings from the original manufacturer that show the rosette colors and changes through the years. I stand by my statement. It was not uncommon for someone to buy say a 1947 Knucklehead and years later purchase a later model deluxe seat or set of saddlebags--that is why I have a problem with the way AMCA judges look at seats and saddlebags----------------

i know it's been said before, but the prices for everything (especially the bikes) are making it harder for us newer members to get the basics. inlinenut told me i'd pay up for bags for my pan, and i did, but they are in good shape, all the pieces are there and i got the brackets, too. now i am looking for the auxilliary spring clips for the buddy seat, and i saw them go for $102 on ebay! not as outrageous as $1,100 for a seat, but jeez!

Cotten--All the info will be in my upcoming book on H-D seats and saddlebags 1904--1960 , hopefully to be out early this summer. Milsco Manufacturing in Milwaukee has been the sole supplier to Harley since the introduction of the buddy seat in 1933.
And Surfdude--send me an e-mail I think I have a set of the buddy seat clips in the shop.

The seat pan has vent holes in it. I guess that makes it at least a 52006-47.
The Deluxe solo saddle. Used on 1947-1951* and in 1951 cost only $21.00!
*This info is from my parts book covering 1941-1951 -- 61", 74" & 80" Big Twins, Sidecars, and 45" Solo and Servi-Cars.
Rockin' Ronny O!
