In the springtime of 1976 I was 20 years old and went to Sal Scrippo's H-D Dealership on the Berlin Turnpike in CT and bought a brand new 76 FX.
I still have the original sales receipt on the wall of my garage and it was for $3508 out the door. I sold my 58 Corvette for $3,000 and my 47 Indian Chief for $900
and didn't get the FXE because it was 100 bucks more. I needed to keep some of the money for party expenses. Working on a loading dock for somewhere between
2 and 3 dollars an hour and 3500 bucks was a lot of money back then. One of the members of the Yankee Chapter recently bought the same exact bike even the same color
and it was at Hebron a few years ago. Brought back a lot of good memories when I saw it. 46
