what years and models is this seat and seat bar for ? JD? VL? EL?

a young friend of mine was given what turns out to be a 1959 Hummer and it came with this seat bar and saddle. He plans to restore the Hummer. to me the seat bar appears to be a 2-hole one eyar only '29-type seat bar for J/JD...? The seat, i don't know, but i am guessing VL and maybe early EL?

Dear Steve, the seat Tee looks like 1929-33 with the two holes either side, but would also fit 1934-36 with the full pan seat and three holes each side. Check the forging number, RE-39 from memory.

Well, Harley went to the full pan seat in 1934 and didn't put the drain holes in the base until about 1940, so if original it would be between those dates. I don't recognise the pattern of the stamped reinforcement ribs underneath, but I see very few original seats that age these days. Even if early aftermarket or from another model it's a nice piece.
