  • Big online changes will reduce your AMCA club access until January 2, 2020

This is the big story about the transition to the AMCA's new online business platform that includes improved website services. Please read this important information from the bi-monthly news letter sent to your email.

    ================================================== =========================================

Today is a big day for the AMCA and its members. We have started the transition to a new membership services support organization called ClubExpress.

Yesterday (Friday, 12/13/19) was Cornerstone Registration's final day as the club's full-time membership services company. They did a great job providing services for the past decade and we are forever indebted to them. AMCA now starts a new chapter to our long history by expanding our services and benefits for AMCA members.

IMPORTANT NOTE: AMCA membership services will be closed starting today and reopening on January 2nd as we transition our membership services to ClubExpress. On January 2nd we will be “open for business” fully supported by the ClubExpress staff.

All AMCA members will receive a Service Announcement email on December 29th reminding you of the upcoming changes and alerting you to an introduction email coming to you directly from ClubExpress on January 2nd. This email will contain instructions on how to register on the new AMCA site.

PLEASE, don’t ignore it! It will be the perfect time to register on the site. The great part about this registration login is that you can have the system can remember you if you check the “REMEMBER ME” option. If you select this option, your future visits to the AMCA site will automatically remember your login credentials and you won't have to re-enter your login data each time you visit the AMCA site. But don't forget to choose the "REMEMBER ME" option when you register to enable this feature.

That's just the first cool part of the website. Now members will have access to every single archive issue of The Antique Motorcycle going back to 1960. Need information on a National Meet or Road Run? No more having to find the hosting chapters website or an ad for the information. Simply go to the National's event page or event calendar and click on the event. All the information you need is now all in one place. Want to register a bike for judging? Just click on the red "registration button" and sign up. If the venue or the chapter has a website with specific information for the event, again there will be a link to access that information.

Interested in joining a chapter? Now finding a chapter in your area just got easier. Click on the "Chapter Finder" link and each chapter is listed worldwide through our new Google Map display. Just click on a Continent, then State or Region, and then the blue “nearby” button.

If you want to see all Chapters listed by State, click the “List View” button.

Want to see a member's video or maybe load your own? The AMCA now has its own YouTube channel where you can find stories on specific bikes or see the new Judges Training Video co-authored our own Chief Judge Don Dzurick.

These are just some of the features that we will show you over the weeks and months to come. If you have any problems logging in or navigating the website, ClubExpress offers LIVE technical assistance from 8:00am to 9:00pm Monday through Friday to assist members.

Watch for the email on January 2nd then have fun visiting the new website.

December 29, 2019 UPDATE ON AMCA On-Line CHANGES

Good morning folks: I wanted to pass on the email that most of you should have received this morning from AMCA Executive Director Kieth Kizer. This is in regard to the imminent changes and upgrade to a new AMCA On-Line business platform. For Kieth's earlier message laying out the whole process of changes at the beginning of this thread.

    Here is Kieth's email message.

Important Registration Information for New AMCA Website

    Antique Motorcycle Club Of America

    Dear AMCA Members,

On January 2nd, you will be receiving an email from ClubExpress notifying you about the new website and asking you to Register on the new website. PLEASE REGISTER.

This registration process will replace all your existing login credentials. You're welcome to use the same user names and passwords, but you must register those on the new site. When registering, make sure to choose the option, REMEMBER ME, so you don't have to login on different pages. In the ClubExpress email you will be provided with a temporary user name and password. Once you login, you can immediately change them to your preference.

Starting on January 2nd, AMCA we will be open for business in a new location in Chicago through our new membership services company, ClubExpress. New office hours will be from 8:00am to 5:00pm Central Time, Monday through Friday. The Tech Line will be open until 9:00pm each weekday.

If have any issues with logging in to the website or navigating around the website, Technicians will be available to help.

The New AMCA Phone number will be given out in the January 2nd email.

REMEMBER: You cannot login to the AMCA website until January 2nd. The Community Forum can be accessed as it is still on the old server.

    Regards,

I'm just waiting for Jan. 2nd so I can register for the new site and renew my membership. I'm wondering if the system will get overloaded on the first day?

don't worry. there wont be a mad rush. Only 20 percent of the membership have computers. from that 20 percent 95 percent are leery about giving out info. years back an info drive killer forum activity. all those numbers i pulled out of my a$$.

I have to agree with Rob. I think the AMCA forum would see a lot more activity if it didn't require AMCA membership to join. However, not being wise in the ways of computer security, I guess that would keep a full time administrator very busy with cyber security. It just bothers me that so many of our members never come here to contribute their vast knowledge of vintage, and true antique motorcycle history.

I agree Eric. I was a relatively late comer to the forums myself since being an AMCA member from the early 80's. I did not come to the forums until 2010. Although not a big loss to the forums since I have limited knowledge to contribute.

I followed the instructions for logging into the new website, but it failed because the message said they are "too busy". Why do I find that hard to believe.

The acronym SNAFU sure fits anything to do with computers

I was able to re-register without problems and pay 2020 dues.
The Events list - 2020 Nat'l Meets and Road Runs - on the website shows nothing past May 22, 23.
I was told that 2020 Road Run registration info. and links would also be available as of today.
