I just got a message that my inbox is full. I had 13 stored messages there. . . That's too many? If so, what is the maximum?

Eric: I see you sent this a couple of weeks ago and sorry I didn't catch it sooner. There are limits set by the administrator - this was done prior to my involvement. I don't know if it is a limit of the number of characters or a limit to the number of messages. I need to find out what that limit is and see how it is impacting members. I ill look into this and get back to you on it. What I do know is that the the messages are actually an aggregate of your message inbox folder and your message sent folder. I would bet that the sent messages count against the total limit so this could be where you have reached the limit.

Eric - I just went to my settings to look at the message folder. I see I have 3 messages in the inbox folder but have 40 in my sent folder. I have asked the developer about the limit. In the meantime it would be interesting if you could check and see how many messages are in your sent folder. That could be what has caused you to reach the threshold.

My sent folder was packed, so I think your are correct, Mike. I cleaned out many of my old letters, but I think I'll save others to a new folder on my computer. There are some very smart people here that have sent me valuable information that my pea brain can't be expected to retain. Thanks for the great advice, and all of the other stuff you do for us, Mike.

I found that the limit to the number of messages in your folder is 50. This was set not so scientifically when the code was written for the forum. It can be changed if needed.
