It looks just like my Famous James, Mark!

Is it about 3 5/8" diameter?

      Thanks Cotten.
I looked at some pics on the internets and I think that you hit the nail square on the head.

Do you mean the British war bike James? I found a James ww2 bike the other day, but it was missing the brake assemblies and backing plates. I would have bought it if I knew where to find the parts.
            Thanks fo the pictures!

              Mine's a '49, Ryan!

I think. Complete but for a tailight, which may be extinct.

That's Virginia Creeper growing all over it.

The Villiers motor spins through much too easily.

I sold one just like it 4 or 5 years ago, minus the mounting brackets. I remember someone saying that it was for a '60's Jap bike.

If I may ask... (You can tell I've been out of wheeler-dealerin' a while.)

I'm sure that it was less than $20.00. I was just getting rid of some clutter and figured it wasn't an old, valuable piece. Especially with the chintzy spring. Knowing what it's for should help the price.
