  • Another Old Film Clip

Shamelessly stolen from the VMCC forum, I thought the folks on here might be interested too.

That's a great clip. I was impressed with how easily the 4-cylinder Matchless started and how smoothly it idled.

That's 'Oily' Karslake with the 1903 Dreadnought, a one-off special now owned by the British VMCC and loaned out for special occasions. Then AMCA President Pete Gagan rode it London to Brighton on the Pioneer Run a few years ago, and told me Karslake must have been tall because it was a struggle getting on. The Pioneer Run this year is 24 March, with 350 pre-1915 bikes, and I'll be there taking pictures for the European Chapter newsletter. There are back numbers at www.amca-europe.eu and the April editions for the last couple of years will have pictures for belt drive fans.
