Indian Oil Sign

Has anybody seen those porcelain Indian Valvoline Oil signs currently on EBAY? There have been quite a few listed over the last couple months. They have a date of 1928 on them. Most I have seen are in very good shape although a few have "patina" (fake?). Are these signs legit or are they some type of fantasy piece/reproduction? Anybody know?

Great question, I too have seen them and have always been out bid when I've bid on them in the past. I'm no expert on signs but my "educated" guess is that they are reproductions. Someone with more knowledge will hopefully add to this thread, I too would like to know more about them.
