    Tom,
It is stamped on the fork stop on pre 1970 models.

      Still haven't found one, Chris!

But that means little, when so many were made before '62, and so many swapped later.

      Still looking...

So now this brings me into the picture with a couple of questions. What if you decided to adapt or change your bike over to a sidecar bike by swapping out the triple trees and building a 3R transmission with a used case on a bike later than 1962? I did this and still have my original parts, but were going to use them for another build.
Boy, I thought Ohio was bad, now I am afraid to take my bikes out of state.

This thread is just one more compelling argument in favor of Indians, Brand X, and rigid frame Harleys.

                Well, Eric,

I now know why they call it the grandfather clause.

Folks who are really apprehensive about an out of state trip, or any event where they might get too much attention,..
It might help to print out all of your vitals, VIN, and 'essential item' numbers ahead of time.

If you come walking back and its gone, and it wasn't the authorities, you will be twice as glad its in your wallet.

I suggest a business-size card with very little embellishment. But you could always put your mug on the other side.

It's a bit more involved than that. Here's a link to a thread I started on the Panhead and Flathead forum in 2019.

Eric, thanks for this link. So much in depth information in it. Now I have to look at all my swap meet stash parts to see what I really have on the shelves.
