  • Leather Chain-Link Kidney Belts

Does anybody happen to know where I can purchase some old-style leather chain-links that were used on the side panels of some kidney belts? I have several old belts that need repair. I have seen many of these old belts and the leather chain-links seem to be the same/shape. There are plenty of leather companies that advertise but no one seems to make this style belt anymore. They definitely involve a lot of hand labor to produce. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Remove one of the good links and trace it onto a piece of leather and cut it out. Go to Goodwill and thrift stores and look for an old purse, boots or shoes to cut up. If you are lucky you might find an old leather jacket or go to an auto salvage yard and look for leather seats, maybe an auto upholstery shop for scraps.
