  • AMCA Members support Cherokee Chapter by Joining

The Cherokee Chapter is very Proud of all the AMCA members from Surrounding States, that have joined the Chapter after our successful Events in March and April, both regional and National events. Our website traffic has been growing with each event over the last 12 months, and after all the positive comments from those that attended or hearing the tales of those that went back home telling their friends, we are expanding the website again.

This Texas Chapter will soon hit 200 members up from 38 January 1, 2013, with People signing up from Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas , Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana plus several other states not nearby. We are planning regional events with several other state Chapters. A large number of our members belong to more than one Chapter, and for that matter several Antique or Vintage Clubs. We had a very good response from the Norton Club, and the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club to name a few.

Our Board of Directors headed ably by President Steve Klein (also Newsletter Editor) has set on a path to be a Member centered Chapter, with direction from our members, to go out everywhere there is a great Motorcycle Event and have FUN . With our great website we wish to include the news of smaller chapters events in our Region, to help promote growth of events and encourage Social Activities with like minded Motorcycle enthusiasts.

With help from others joining our Chapter we will set an example of how distance is not a limiting factor in being part of the Antique, Vintage and Classic Motorcycle community. Shared common interest in old motorcycles is not just limited to riding, but sharing of knowledge, friendships, and social time together will make us a better Chapter.

Thanks to all that sent in Pictures taken on our Road Run, check out the Blog and Gallery sections for links to many postings. www.cherokeeamca.org Shelby Withrow, Membership / Events Director

I was astounded when you "just happened to have" a Linkert float for the guy with the ailing ULH!

The entire Road Run was planned out by chapter members, divided into groups to handle details of all functions required. Our group of volunteers all settled into preparation of all tasks needed to insure a smooth Road Run. These people were trying from the very start to make sure no small detail was not overlooked, these people all volunteered to do jobs they had experience with in their professional lives, Business Owners, School Teachers, Office Workers, Motorcycle Mechanics, and Members that had experience in attending or working on Road Runs in the Past, this is the Cherokee Chapters third Road Run.

Even the details of the Sweep Truck duties, was a practice run for me as the Truck Driver along with Jessie Law, JD mechanic, for Jon Neuman and Greg McFarland, all part of the Carson Classic Motors Cannonball 3 team. We all took this National Road Run as a quick look at what is it going to take to get 8 riders and 8 Support Crew members 1450 miles in 17 days, what issues will arise, what spares needed, what tools, and how well we were prepared.

All of the Road Run team did a great job, in planning and execution of a wonderful event. We are proud we could get most folks back on the road to finish the days ride.
