We have the same tourist problems here in Florida Sirhr. This season has been over-run with tourists and I say screw them. They bring money to the region, but they've also destroyed what's left of Florida's natural beauty. The advantages of tourism are not in sync with the environmental damage they have done. But, we're all interlopers here in Florida so I really can't point a finger. . . I do like to give it however

With the exception of a few years when I lived elsewhere in the U.S., I was born and have lived on Long Island. This is, by far, the worst winter that I can remember. Maybe my age is skewing my perception, but the damp, cold weather and lingering snow-turned-to-ice bothers me more and more. But at least it forces me into my basement cave to do all of the more tedious motorcycle things that must be done....Bill Pedalino

Most Mid-Westerners, Folks,...
Are hardened to nasty "Alberta Clippers" and the like.
But there were usually periods of relief.
The "Polar Vortex" has been brutal.
Hard frost this morning, more snow tonight, but the baldys are thinning out, flights of ducks and geese undulate northward like huge dragons over the bluffs, robins are back to fight for territory, and a few hardy pelicans are inching up the river.
In the Mid-West, the rule is "extreme to extreme".
