Trophys tell stories. These were won by Charles Chenoweth,Ottumwa Iowa Indian dealer. The tall one was for best dressed club,at 1942 Hawkeye Downs Gypsy Tour. The war was on and this was one of the most fun meets ever held in the upper Midwest, according to Erwin"Smitty'Smith.Promoted by Bob Pazour,Cedar Rapids Indian Dealer.Bob built many privateer Indian Racers after the war.The Gals were always in good attendance ,but this year they were the highlight, knowing that most of the guys were leaving for the war.Hometown of Motormaid ,Margaret Wilson, daughter of founder Linda Dugeau. The short one was for winner Mississippi TT Race at Davenport 1941
These were originally silver plated ,but most silver had been lost and then they survived my massive fire with me.As I removed the soot the silver came off
