The Van Buren sisters made an epic cross country ride totaling 5,500 miles in 1916, riding a pair of Indian motorcycles. They did not effect the social change they were after, but it was still quite an adventure. Note that most of the pictures have a watermark from the same photographer. This points to the fact that all of the photos were taken in California at the end of the trip and the "action" shots were actually staged. Not surprising since cameras were not very portable in 1916 and GoPros hadn't been invented yet...
