Around the turn of the century, Alfred Leroy was run over by a train, losing both of his legs and half of one arm. Amazingly, he survived the accident and went on to become an avid motorcyclist. In the late teens, he rode a 1916 J-series Harley-Davidson with sidecar on a 50,000+ tour of the US. Both the motorcycle and the sidecar had a number of ingenious modifications that allowed him to make this trip solo.
