Spring help needed

Is there a reasonably easy method to re-curving/straightening springs such as a buddy-seat spring?
I have several that may have been used by members of the Texas Roller Derby...
New ones aren't that expensive but I hate throwing away "good" stuff.

They are tough to fix, but I've had some success by re-arcing them in a vise. The streched coil at the bottom of the spring is a much harder fix and I can't suggest a good way to bend it back. It should go without saying that you don't want to use heat on the spring.
