  • Question on Ignition Switch

This is my first attempt at posting, please be gentle. I am restoring a '47 Knucklehead. I have two Briggs & Stratton ignition switches with codes of
    B3 - 91 & B4 - 52 Do the codes correspond to particular years of manufacture?
Thanks in advance for any info. Bob

Welcome Bob - those are the key codes rather than a date code. Any decent locksmith should be able to take those numbers and cut you a key that fits (they have a code book that tells them how deep to cut the key for each tumbler for that code). As an aside, I have a 1952 Briggs lock and key catalogue and for a 1947 Harley it lists the key series as B256->B455 so either are correct for your bike ... Perry
