  • Hells Angels in the Wind

Taken in 1965 on a Hells Angels run from San Bernardino to Bakersfield, CA. Great images of motorcycles heading down the road. Plenty of shots of single motorcycles, that give a good look into the custom motorcycle scene in California in the mid 60's.

The bikes are neat... but what I absolutely love about those photos is the incredible composition and the image quality... that only Black and White film and, at that time, a Leica M could have produced. Sure enough, I did some digging an Ray used an M for his work. No doubt he was also an expert in the darkroom to get the contrasts and quality that spectacular.

This is a great additional montage and shows some pictures of Ray. And some pictures of the 'old ladies.'

Neat stuff and thanks for posting.

    Cheers,
