  • Australian Forces on WLA's

Interesting photos of Australian troops riding WLA's. Since they were still part of the British Empire, Australia was able to receive motorcycles through the US Lend-Lease program. They not only saw action in WWII, but also continued using the motorcycles during the Korean War.

    Hi Jim,
my dad was a dispatch rider for a while but he got either an AJS or a matchless to ride depending on which had the most fuel in it on the day. I was told of two WLA in crates that were buried so far to the back of a storage shed that the army now has said they do not exist because so much other stuff is in front or on top making hard to track them down, that was along time back and I am not sure whether they would have been damaged in the floods we had as they were said to be close to the Brisbane river
