  • Seeking Antique Motorcycle help in Auckland, NZ

Are there any AMCA member out there who live in Auckland, NZ?

Do we have an adjunct club there?

I am trying to get in touch with a craftsman who makes wicker sidecar baskets and chair seats. I know he is still actively making them for the bike community there and sold one in March. But his 'ad' won't let me e-mail him and there is no information at all about getting in contact.

Trying lots of possible routes... hoping that some antique bike folks down there might know who he is and ask him to get in touch.

    Cheers,

    Sirhr

Try Tommo ( Peter Thompson) on this site. He lives on the North island and probably knows of the person you are referring to.

        Give Ken Campbell a call on 0064 9 4227552
He's recently had this one made for his Indian
The photos are more about the people rather than the sidecar
Ken's an AMCA member from the Auckland area and a real good guy.
Ken's the guy in the flat cap and those photos were taken at this years Leadfoot Festival a fortnight ago.

Wasn't there a thread on here or an article in the magazine that mentioned a bloke from Australia that makes these ?

                  Hi Tommo:

Back from my wanderings with a 24 foot car trailer behind my truck... and left a message for Ken. Thanks so much!

FYI, in the back of my trailer is a 1911 Triumph. I helped a car client of mine find it and buy it. Good thing he bought or I would have...

Pictures coming and I'll introduce him if he becomes a member. It's an amazing bike.

                  Cheers,

                  Sirhr

                    Sirhr,
I know a bit about veteran Triumphs
                    I have a 1911 and a 1913.
Also have a few spares that are available
Check the base of the cylinder barrel on the drive side and see if the numbers stamped there match those on the crankcase.
They are very spaced out with the letters near the front and the numerals near the back.
If they do you have a matching number bike with it's original cylinder.
Peter Cornelius does a series of about 3 booklets on these bikes that are the Palmer equivalent for veteran Triumphs.
Very reasonable cost, about $12 each and well worth getting.
If you want his contact details send me a PM.
