  • Texas Cherokee Chapter Booth at Oklahoma City 2 day Swapmeet and Bike Show

After the great response we recieved at the Arlington bike show, and meeting with some fine Folks in OKC the week after, the Texas Cherokee chapter started planning to have a small Booth at Jeff Williams 2 day Bike Show and Swapmeet, Feb 16th and 17th at the Okla. City Fairgrounds. Well it seems the word has got out that the Texas riders are serious about growing their chapter. What started out as a small exibit with a few nice bikes has grown to include bikes from Okla. as well as Texas.

We invite everyone to stop by and visit with our members that are going to put on a show within a show

We are planning an east Texas road run in early April, joining the Just Kickers run in Davis Okla. end of April, We have our first newsletter out since new officers were elected, our Website www.cherokeeamca.org is up and running. The Chapter is planning to have 6 run locations identified in all parts of Texas, so no one will be left out. We will also be planning more booths like this one through out the year. Shelby

    Cherokee Chapter expands in Oklahoma

The Texas Cherokee Chapter has done two 2 day swapmeets and bike shows in the last 45 days and we have raised the bar of what chapters can do with its members efforts. What started out as a simple booth to "meet and greet" in Okla. City with Dwight Rinner and Lyle Henry, of Okla. City area and Gloria and myself, with the Chapter and National Banners, turned into something more than we expected. Not only did the booth grow in size, so did our membership by another 15%. Our Chapter now has Dwight and Lyle as membership and event cordinators in Okla.

With the help of Steve Klein, Elton Morris, Stanley Miller, Greg McFarland, Joe & Susan Burch, David Kugle, and Steve Cornish, From Texas, along with several new members in Okla. set up a 150 foot Booth that won Best Group Display of the entire show, along with individual "Best in Show" class trophys, many first and second place trophys. I will leave it up to others to comment on the details, my thanks to all who made this an Award Winning Social event for the enjoyment of the general public, Steve Klein deserves a special Thank You for his effort and display materials and the five teen's Motorcycles he brought. Also Thanks to Kirk Sharp of "Just Kickers", for joining our merry group, He invited all AMCA members to attend the Vintage Motorcycling camping weekend end of April. Check our Website for more details www.cherokeeamca.org
With 2 suppers together as a group, new friends were made and a good time was had by all.
Great Job, Guys ad Gals, And Welcome Oklahoma to the Cherokee Chapter. Shelby and Gloria Withrow
