    nuts & bolts

My projects nowadays seem to be the british stuff. Mainly Triumphs. Because of the Whitworth and CEI and other (crazy) fasteners a fellow cain't just run down to the local Ace hardware to pick up a needed nut or bolt. So I try to reuse every piece possible. I thought I'd give thr Eastwood Zinc/Tin plating kit a try. Her are before and after.

They look great, I'm also a hoarder of Whitworth nuts and bolts for my AJS. Have used that same kit with good results on my Harley stuff also. Rod

WHile WW and CEI fasteners may be difficult to find, one has toconsider what reusing fasteners means in different assemblies. Reuse has some consequences that need tobe considered. Here is a web page that explains it better than I in a short amount of time:

Reuse of fasteners in critical application locations can cause mechanical and safety issues, so beware.
