  • Max Bubeck and his record breaking Indian Chout

Max Bubeck is better known as an enduro racer than a land speed racer, but in 1948 he set a record of 135.58 mph out on the Rosamond Dry Lake. This record still stands today, making the "Chout" the fastest unstreamlined, normally aspirated 80 cubic inch Indian ever raced. The "Chout" is an interesting hybrid built using Chief and Scout parts and I've gone through the basics of how to build one.
